About Om Foundation

The Om Foundation, a 501(c)(3), was started by Dr. Sanjay Goyal in April 2010 to address the diabetes endemic in Guatemala. The mission of the foundation has been a steady one: to treat diabetes and help provide quality of life for the patients and their families.

Since its inception, the foundation has successfully provided free treatment to over 15,000 diabetic patients across 31 clinics in the last ten years. Free consultation and medication are provided at four clinics held three times a year across four separate towns in the Peten region of Guatemala. All patients receive a three-month supply of medication and insulin to help them lead quality lives until the next set of clinics. During its medical missions, the Om Foundation foresaw the need for supporting rural schools in the Peten region. The foundation has been fortunate to provide school furniture and flooring in over 15 schools.

In the near future, the Om Foundation hopes to expand its clinics and rural school workshops to other parts of Guatemala.
